Cockadoodledon't! How about an encore?

B r i l l i a n t !!!
I'm so kicked. Its the thrill thats associated with spending two hours in the torrent-sphere. Check it out, my latest catch on Bit Torrent: 1-23 FULL episodes of the Swat Kats!!
Man, I miss old-school Cartoon Network. Old-school here translates to CN of the 90s. I mean I acknowledge the fact that the post-Toonami era really launched the cartoon industry into the mainstream and that this is a sign of the times making change necessary. But must this have come at the cost of phasing the classic 'toons out?

I'm one of those CN veteran type guys who's been brought up on a staple diet of the channel's shows almost since its inception. Its almost as essential a part of my childhood and adolescence as having a handkerchief pinned on to my breast pocket and the first crush respectively. Those were the times really. I'd rather feel pleasantly old by reminiscing on the goodness of CN of yore rather than diss the bad present.

As a kid, there are not many things that evoke your red-hot visual stimuli more effectively than cartoons. For me, the final bell at school could never come early enough. I don't recall ever finishing my evening prayer in my mad rush to get home. After all, what sane middle school kid would want to miss precious minutes of The Centurions ?? All I ever lived for those days was getting together with friends after school to watch CN and later play cricket, all the while discussing Fred Flintstone's family problems or why the Swat Kats didn't use 'the relentless missile' more often.

Hanna-Barbera were absolute geniuses. I've always rated them a lot higher than Walt Disney or Warner Bros or Fox. I miss H-B shows so much, its not funny! I recently caught the CN tenth anniversary special that captured all ye shows of olde. Heartbreaking is not the word! They don't even make the promos and commercials like that anymore.

If I recall right, a normal circa-97 weekday schedule on CN would go something like this:
Morning: Penelope Pitstop, The adventures of Richie Rich, Scooby Doo, Laff-alympics.
Late morning, early afternoon: Road Runner, Speed Racer, Garfield, Cartoon cartoons.
Late afternoon, early evening: The Flintstones, The Addams Family, The Jetsons, The Mask.
Power Zone : The Centurions, Galtar and the Golden Lance, Swat Kats, Ninja Robots. (Super Adventures- Space Ghost, Birdman, and The Galaxy Trio)
Late Evenings: The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest, Captain Planet, Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo- where are you?, The Popeye Show, Top Cat.

I was and still am a manic Swat Kats fan. I damn near swung my cricket bat at the telly the day they decided to take SK off air. I mean when you've got a show with lines like "T-Bone, get these two back to the Turbomole! I'll cover your tail!", you simply cannot take it off air goddam it!
But SK is back on CN, and its become a midnight ritual of sorts for me to turn off my room lights, get a glass of Rasna and tune into some radical MegaKatastrophe!
Although now, thanks to Bit Torrent, I can watch two precious seasons of SK at a bloomin' stretch!

#,nfjagd!ajkhu/8u.....sorry I tried to type while doing a back somersault.
